Here at http://year2-highspeedmotiondetection.blogspot.co.uk/ you'll find the blog for our year 2 project blog titled "High Speed Motion Detection Using a Sensing Chip Form an Optical Mouse", by Yuhan Wu; Yuhang Zhang; Zhengyan Xu; Xuanxi Chen, supervised by Dr Kai Hoettges.
This project focuses on how to use an optical flow sensor to detect high speed motion. It can be divided into two parts. One is building a circuit to connect L293D chip with stepper motor and writing an Arduino program to control the motor. The other part is using an optical flow sensor to detect the movement of stepper motor and drawing a real-time trace image on the computer.
This project simulates the working process of an optical mouse.
