Formula Student Safety Loop Monitor

The university competes in a yearly engineering competition called the Formula Student, which involves designing, building and racing open wheeled formula style race cars. Within these systems in a circuit known as the safety loop which prevents the car from starting up on ignition if any of the various systems within the loop fail.
This stops any potential catastrophic failures such as brake failure or instrumentation failure while the car is in operation.
However, when something happens to the system, it is currently impossible to tell which system has failed and therefore a long systematic process was required to determine the fault.

Our system is designed to combat that by monitoring each system within the safety loop and reporting which system has failed on a programmable HUD for the driver.
We also want the screen to be open source so as it can be used to display other sources of instrumentation like speed, battery and temperatures.
