WSN Data Forwarding

Here at http://groupprojectenergyharvesting.blogspot.co.uk/ you'll find the blog for our year 2 project blog titled "Group Project: Data Forwarding in Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs)", by Meng Yan, Yunlu Wen, Yibo Ning and Jieying Kang, supervised by Dr Shusen Yang.

The main object of this project is to simulate the data forwarding in energy harvesting wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this project, the solar energy is the energy harvest of the system battery. Three routing protocols which are FLOODING, GOSSIPING and FLOODING 2.0 were simulated. As a result, the lifetime of system has been extended through decreasing times of the repeated transmission of data packets between sensor nodes.

We design a protocol based on Flooding and the lifetime is longer than Flooding and it is more robust than Gossiping. For achieving these developments, 'three-way handshake' connection was applied to transmission of data packets. As a result, the transmissibility is increased and the number of failures become less.
