Here at http://year2projectcoldwinter.blogspot.co.uk/ you will find the blog of our year 2 project blog titled "Simulation of twin axes servo controlled camera position & Controller Design", produced by Jian Wang, Xin Li, Shan Zhang and Xuye Zhao, supervised by John Counsell.
This twin axis servo-motor control system designed in this project aims to stabilize the position of a video surveillance camera mounted on an Unmanned Airborne Vehicle (UAV). When the UAV is autopilot in high speed, the video camera must be kept still at all time to maintain a good focus of the image and prevent jittery image motion. To achieve this purpose, a two gimbal control system used to correct the angle of video camera is required and the supporting software tool in this project is Simulink in Matlab.
