Here at https://electronicsproject2016.wordpress.com/ you'll find the blog for our year 2 project titled "Mood lamp with sensors and a buzzer", by Ruimin Zhao, Sheng Xu, and Jing Zhang, supervised by Dr. Mark Bowden.
This project is to construct a mood lamp consisting of 16 LEDs which can display different patterns of light or produce songs depending on sensors. The sensors includes a light sensor, a distance sensor and a temperature sensor. The main part of it is an Arduino board with the 16 LEDs soldered onto a plastic board. A breadboard with circuit configuration including sensors and a buzzer and several resistors is connected to the LEDs under the plastic board. All the working patterns were designed using coding in Arduino compatible software. It is designed to produce songs depending on different lightness of the environment with the aid of the light sensor, and to display certain patterns of light depending on the distance sensor and the temperature sensor. Also, when the light sensor controls the buzzer to produce songs, the LED display lightness in a consistence pace according to the songs.
