Chua’s Chaos Circuit

Here at http://chuachaoscircuit.blogspot.co.uk you'll find the blog for our year 2 project blog titled "Investigate Chua chaos circuit and compare with a RLC linear circuit", by Xu Zhang, Junkai Wang, Yuhong Li, supervised by Prof S Hall.

This project is to investigate the properties of Chua's chaos circuit (RL-diode in serial) and compare it with a RLC serial circuit. The final outcome is to find the unique characters of chaotic phenomenon. For example, the resonant frequency is discovered in small signal condition. It also exists in RLC circuit. However, at resonant frequency, increasing amplitude of sine source produces period doubling bifurcation in RLD circuit. New harmonics appear at the half and quarter of resonant frequency in the spectrum.

The chaos phenomenon could produce chaotic carrier to transmit digital information. The information can be hidden in the evolution of a chaotic attractor produced by Chua's circuit and retrieved by subtracting the same chaotic background to reveal the original message. As the result, the chaos circuit is mainly used for encryption communication.
