Here at https://mbedkeyboard.wordpress.com/ you will find the blog for our year 2 project MBED musical keyboard by Matthew Morris, Lei Zhou, and Weizao Wang supervised by Dr John Marsland
Our project is a MBED musical keyboard the basis of the project revolves around the touch slider on the FRDM-KL46Z and its capability of outputting different signals. The Keyboard works by playing a different note depending on the placement of the users finger on touch board.
The project has some different applications to name a few it could be a toy for young children to aid learning to play the piano and with significant improvement it could be a device that may be considered by professional electronic music producers due to its customisability and unique sound.
The projects design requires no external components and makes use of the components on both the FRDM-KL46Z and the MBED application shield, throughout the project we have tried to make use of all the features these boards can provide to try and make it as user friendly as we possibly can.
